Having spent most of my Summers on Cape Cod and in Provincetown, I've always been fascinated by the simplicity of coastal New England architecture and the effect light has on these simple structures.
Mark is a talented artist whose works render a bold graphic image. He holds a BFA in graphic design from the University of Bridgeport in CT. He spent most of his career in marketing and advertising only recently returning to his true love, painting. HIs work is well known to Cape and Islanders where it has been carried by a well known gallery for almost a decade. We hope that visitors to Newburyport, can now enjoy his work locally.
When Schianca is painting he seems to blue the line between fine art and graphic design. The result may be an intense symmetry or his use of satruated colors. The work is almost universally uplifting and playful. His work is well known to Cape Cod residents and Islanders where it was carried by a well known gallery for almost a decade.
